At the beginning of this week we were given three questions to answer ‘why do we need black history month?’, ‘a period that is significant to me’ and  ‘why this event/person is significant’. Throughout this project I always had these questions in the back of my mind. To start this project of I visited Somerset house to see the ATHI-PATRARUGA: OF GODS, RAINBOWS AND OMISSIONS exhibition.

With lost of online research to help me understand what black history month is. I started to research the Notting Hill Carnival and the meaning behind it.

I then looked into Deray McKesson who is an activist and mainly uses social media like twitter and instagram as his platform.
