Pattern Cutting Pt 1.

From using my bodice pattern that I created before. I have now cut, pinned and sewn together a toile out of calico. Firstly I made sure I folded my fabric and made sure that my grain line ran parallel with the selvage. With my toile I wanted a back opening. I then proceeded to cut around my fabric leaving a 1.5mm seam allowance. I then pinned the top of the darts and notches from the bottom of the darts so I know where I would need to stitch. I then began sewing up the side seams, matching the notches together. After finishing sewing the sides and the darts I pressed opened my seams in the inside of my toile. I then put the toile onto the stand and it fitted perfectly.

If I was to do this again I would make sure that all of my pieces aligned properly, I would also try it in a different fabric maybe something harder do it gave the bodice more of a structural look. Overall I loved doing this task as I love sewing.
